Samsung Galaxy S24 Mobile Review

Samsung’s Galaxy S-series portfolio has consistently been the top pick for premium Android flagship smartphones. These cell phones, along with all the bells and whistles one could hope for, have never failed to impress. With the release of the Galaxy S24 series this year, Samsung has upped the ante by incorporating AI. The review of the opulent Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is now out.

In this article, we’ll discuss the Samsung Galaxy S24, which is the cheapest smartphone in the lineup, and explain why it should be your first choice if you’re looking for a potent, portable Android flagship.

Rating: 8/10

Samsung Galaxy S24 Verdict

Anyone searching for a small, powerful smartphone with some clever features must have the Samsung Galaxy S24. With a brilliant screen, sophisticated camera setup, dependable performance, and many AI technologies that can be used for free until at least the end of 2025 to increase productivity, this high-end flagship phone has it all.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Create and present

Anyone switching from a smartphone with a display size larger than 6.1 inches will find the Samsung Galaxy S24 design to be quite refreshing. The phone still has the same lightweight, thin, and compact design as its predecessor. Instead of curving edges, there are now flat edges that fall to a 90-degree angle, improving ergonomics. Because of this, the device fits into the hands so well that I didn’t feel the need to add a case to change its size.

The phone feels excellent in the hand. The smartphone has an all-aluminum frame, and its sturdy build is enhanced with Corning Gorilla Glass covering the front and back of the device. When the gadget is placed flat on a surface, it wobbles due to the three separate rings that contain the vertically aligned back cameras protruding from the frame. Without requiring any finger acrobatics, the power and volume buttons are conveniently located on the phone’s right spine.

Even when seen from an angle, the image quality is flawless, including rich blacks, vivid colors, and a high contrast ratio. Although the phone lacks the S24 Ultra’s anti-reflective coating, it does have Samsung’s new Vision Booster technology, which is rated to maintain color fidelity in even the brightest sunlight. The dual speakers on the smartphone produce clear, powerful audio.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy S24’s camera configuration is the same as that of its predecessor. The phone has three back cameras: a 12 MP ultra-wide lens, a 10 MP 3x telephoto lens, and a 50 MP main sensor. The phone has a 12 MP camera on the front for taking selfies and making video calls. On the other hand, the business has enhanced image algorithms and incorporated a few more functions. The S24’s image quality is generally really good, matching the flagship’s level, even if I didn’t have the S23 to test how much the new image algorithms improved things.

The colors are slightly enhanced, as is typical with Samsung, but they don’t stray too far from reality. With a wealth of details in a variety of lighting conditions, the photos appear clear and colorful. The ultra-wide photos nonetheless appear rich and inviting, even though they might not be as detailed as those taken with a standard camera. When using the 3x telephoto sensor instead of the primary camera, there is no color shift, and in well-lit environments, the pictures appear fantastic for both close-ups and portraiture. Digital zoom, on the other hand, degrades clarity, and the smartphone’s highest 30x zoom is not impressive.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Performance and software

Samsung has returned to using its own Exynos chipsets for the standard S24 and S24 Plus, having experimented with the Snapdragon chipsets the previous year. Under the hood of both handsets is the Exynos 2400 chipset, which is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC counterpart. Up to 512GB of non-expandable storage and 8GB of RAM are included with the vanilla S24. For a device of its kind, the performance is impressive. Whether it’s for multitasking, surfing, going through social media, or streaming, the smartphone is quick at everything. The phone can even play games without straining; however, the quality of the experience may be diminished by the small screen.

The smartphone also has some AI features built in, such as Circle to Search, Live Translate, Chat Assist, Transcript Assist, and more. Our S24 Ultra review goes into much depth regarding them. These AI tools are essentially intended to increase efficiency, facilitate smoother conversation, and inject some fun into the moments that are recorded. In 2026, these qualities will be monetizable.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Battery and charging

With compatibility for both 15W wireless charging and 25W cable fast charging, the Samsung Galaxy S24 has a 4,000mAh battery. The smartphone’s small battery pack makes the rapid charging feel less sluggish, even though it may appear slower than those of its rivals. It takes the phone more than an hour to fully charge from 0% to 100% when using a compatible charging brick, which is an additional cost. The Type-C charging cord is the only item included with the smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 offers a respectable battery backup that, with normal use, should see you through the day after a full charge. You might need to charge the gadget at least once during the day if you use it for slightly heavier tasks like navigation and high-resolution video recording.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Final verdict

The entry-level Samsung Galaxy S24 with 256GB of storage costs Rs 79,999, while the top-tier 512GB model costs Rs 89,999 in India. In addition to the iPhone 15, the device faces competition from Android devices such as the Vivo X100 (review) and OnePlus 12 (review). But the Pixel 8 is undoubtedly its real competitor (review). The Pixel 8 contains some AI photo and video editing features, albeit limited ones, and unlike Samsung, Google hasn’t yet stated that it intends to stop offering these functions for free!

However, all things considered, the Samsung smartphone proves to be superior. Compared to the Pixel 8, the Samsung Galaxy S24 doesn’t throttle as much. Furthermore, the phone offers excellent cameras, a luxurious feel, and clear visuals without sacrificing utility. The Samsung Galaxy S24 is a strong competitor in its class, even though its battery life may not be the best.
