All year round is the ideal time to visit Ooty because of the lovely weather that is ideal for sightseeing. How to travel by car to Ooty

By road, Ooty is located 105 miles from Tiruppur and 90 km from Coimbatore. From these locations, bus services and even taxis for hire are easily accessible.

The two closest stations that link to Mettupalayam are Coimbatore and Tiruppur. From there, you can take the Ooty Toy rail, a special rail service that runs from Mettupalayam to Ooty and a few other smaller stops. The Nilgiri Express departs from Chennai at night and arrives at Mettupalayam, a small town at the foothills of the Nilgiris, early the next morning (Indian Rail spells it Metupalaiyam).
