Story

Review

Who on the phone gives an OTP away carelessly to a scammer? In a lockup, who walks about requesting a “room change”? Lleo, an unrepentant rabble-rouser who loses all of his wealth and comforts as readily as he gained it, is the answer to all of these problems. However, as soon as he reaches the streets, he starts to cause trouble for everyone he comes into contact with, endangering humanity. The character LLeo was originally presented to us in one of The Viral Fever’s (TVF) inaugural Indian web streaming series, “Permanent Roommates.”

Despite having a fan base due to its youthful and accessible material, Lleo’s ostentatious behavior made him stand out. The five short episodes that makeup “Adventures of Lleo” are edgy, irreverent, and sporadically funny. Because the episodes are so brief, the show never gets too much on you, although the script is a little too extravagant and sometimes just convenient. Given that Lleo can get away with so many transgressions with strangers, it’s more startling than amusing. So there’s a bittersweet satisfaction when he finds his match, like his cellmates in the lock-up. It’s amazing to see how easily Lleo will irritate people and get into problems, as each episode has a distinct plot and cast of characters.

The main attraction of the program is Anandeshwar Dwivedi, who plays a character that speaks nonstop and casually. He treats everyone equally and doesn’t hold anyone back. As a result, the dialogue ranges from flat to hilarious to generally simply offensive. Not every joke or punchline lands as intended. Sometimes, all you can do is feel bad for Lleo and everyone who comes into contact with him. It could be more difficult to relate to Lleo if you haven’t watched “Permanent Roommates” or if you love it.

‘Adventures of Lleo’ is the perfect show to watch if you’re feeling edgy and need a few hearty laughs. It doesn’t always make you laugh out loud, but it does have its share of irreverent humor.
