Guests are transported to various areas of the hotel along the hill’s gradient using glass-walled elevators that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. A gigantic fake tree that serves as the focal point and the foundation for the hotel’s ambient experience is one of the decor’s most striking elements. Each block in the traditional village, deep forest, and bodhi tree has been named after a component of the natural world. The suites and rooms are arranged next to open hallways. An ethnically themed coffee shop, reminiscent of the rustic tea shops prevalent throughout Kerala, is nestled in a crevice carved out of a rock. The waterfall hisses early in the morning and late at night, blending with the simian sounds of insects, birds, and jungle cats.

Outside, large terraces and balconies on each story offer views of the tea-clad and forested mountain slopes that curve into the haze at the horizon. Clouds drift by at dawn and at various points during the day, creating trails of mist that snake into the valley below. Windy Woods is unquestionably the pinnacle of luxury and fine living, quite simply nestled in a peaceful grove of silver oak trees amid breathtakingly lovely surroundings and gracious service.
