Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro laptop family is the pinnacle of luxury, with incredibly elegant designs and stunning AMOLED screens. The Dynamic AMOLED touchscreen on the company’s Galaxy Book4 Pro (review) won me over the moment I had it in my hands. Having said that, I was interested in a 2-in-1 feature that would let developers maximize the display by fully flipping the screen. This takes us to the newest offering from the firm, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360, which I’ve had for a short while. Before you put it in your cart, make sure you read this.

Design and I/O

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360’s design is identical to the Galaxy Book4 Pro that I previously reviewed. The design is made more appealing by a few minor details, but both computers will look the same to the untrained eye. To do this, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 also has an elegant all-metal construction. It weighs 1.6kg more than it does and is slightly thicker (12.8mm).

I like that the laptop’s girth has somewhat increased because it gives the frame a sense of strength. The Galaxy Book4 Pro felt overly dainty, which was one of my primary complaints. However, when I grip the edges of the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360, its frame doesn’t creak and feels considerably more sturdy. The laptop’s screen now has a 360-degree articulating hinge as well. It’s great that the hinge lessens screen wobbling and improves touch sensitivity. Additionally, it is not as ugly as the one on the Galaxy Book4 Pro.

There is a sophisticated Moonstone Gray coating option for the laptop. Smudges and fingerprints are repelled by the matte coating. Furthermore, when light is shone on the Samsung emblem carved on the light, it displays various colors. When everything is considered, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 receives excellent design feedback.

Along with a good assortment of connectors, the laptop has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1 slot, a USB 3.2 Type-A connector, and a microSD card reader. Although I would have preferred to see one additional USB Type-A connector, the majority of users should have no trouble connecting a few devices to the device. Along with the tablet, buyers will also receive an S-pen.

It also has a button that you can double-press to open the Air command tab. Let’s move our attention to the laptop’s keyboard deck for the time being; I’ll go into more detail about it later. That being said, the keyboard deck on the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 is identical to that of the Galaxy Book4 Pro. Excellent tactile sensation and well-spaced keys characterize this keyboard. Even if the key travel was a little shallow, I still enjoyed using the device to type large pieces.

Additionally, the laptop has a Numpad, which is useful if you frequently use programs like Calculator or Excel. The trackpad provides a smooth tracking surface and occupies a sizable space beneath the keyboard deck.

Display and Audio

One of the best displays available is found in the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 series. Specifically, the 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with 2.8K resolution comes with my review unit. The panel spans 120 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and refreshes at up to 120 Hz. Of course, media enthusiasts find the laptop to be a blessing. The screen produces deep blacks and highlights vibrant colors.

In addition to having wide viewing angles, the display can reach an astonishing 500 nits of brightness. The OLED screen on the gadget proved to be beneficial as I played games like Hollow Knight and watched a lot of movies on it. The images just blew me away.

The laptop has a quad-speaker array that has a loudspeaker system. Additionally, the acoustics have superb depth and don’t distort at loud volumes. Oddly enough, I wasn’t too fond of the Galaxy Book4 Pro‘s downward-firing speakers. On the Book4 Pro 360, though, I could raise the base to prevent a mute in the audio output.

Software

Many tools are included with the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 to help you be more productive. For example, the Air command tab contains some handy S-pen shortcuts like Screen Write and Smart Select. With the former, users can quickly capture screenshots and even create GIFs, making it a convenient substitute for the snipping tool. With the latter, users can take screen grabs and write notes.

Additionally, the laptop has a ton of live wallpapers that are accessible through the Galaxy Book Experience app. Creatives can also use the included Samsung Studio picture and video editing application. Although it won’t compete with Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite, it can speed up the editing process for reels and other short films. Users may club many short movies, stickers, music, audio, and more to a project using the app’s simple user interface.

Both Battery Life and Performance

Intel’s Core Ultra 7 155H CPU powers the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360. The laptop has 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and Intel’s Arc graphics, which have eight Xe cores. It should come as no surprise that the device functions similarly to other high-end thin-and-light convertibles, such as the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro and the HP Spectre x360.

Consider the Cinebench R24 single and multi-core scores of the laptops. The HP Spectre x360 and the Galaxy Book4 Pro scored 830 and 101 points and 620 and 100 points, respectively, while the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 scored 520 and 99 points.

To give you a better idea, the game averages about 25 frames per second at 2.8K resolution and High settings. Nevertheless, you may play the game at about 50 frames per second if you reduce the resolution to 1200P. In the same way, Valorant overturns at about 90FPS at 1200P resolution and operates at about 60FPS at 2.8K resolution.

Although that’s fantastic, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360’s cooling system might be improved. Using the laptop on your lap is not advised because the base of the device might grow extremely warm to the touch. Under load, the majority of the laptop‘s P-cores remain at 90 degrees, with a small number reaching 99 degrees. Positively, the laptop has an excellent battery backup, and I can use it for up to six hours at a time (with the Balanced battery option).

Verdict

At the time this article was written, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 was available for about 1.6 lakh, although it is priced at Rs 1.8 lakh. The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360, with its stylish and sleek form, is a fantastic gadget, especially for its discounted price. Even if the laptop’s performance isn’t as good as the HP Spectre x360‘s, its display provides an unparalleled media consumption experience, and it shouldn’t be affected negatively by typical office tasks.

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 is a lightweight convertible that has an elegant design that will meet all of your needs.
