The action drama Saindhav stars Venkatesh, the most endearing actor, and Sailesh Kolanu, the star of HIT. Featuring an all-star cast, this marks Venkatesh’s 75th film. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is an actor with versatility who is making his Tollywood debut. Watch the film to find out how it is.
Story:
The film, which is about Saindhav Koneru, also known as SaiKo (Venkatesh), is set in the imaginary city of Chandraprastha. He is employed by the customs department as a crane operator. Manogya (Shraddha Srinath), a cab driver, looks after Saindhav’s daughter Gayathri (Baby Sara Palekar). Gayathri passes out in school one day. When the physicians take Gayathri to the hospital, they discover that she has spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). A 17 crore investment is required for Gayathri. What was Saindhav’s next move? Was his daughter saved by him? What relationship does he have with Mukesh Rishi’s character Mitra, the head of a drug and arms cartel? This is the subject matter of the film.
Extra Credits:
Win Actor Venkatesh is one who can play any part with great conviction. There is no denying that Venky is the movie’s heart and soul. From beginning to end, he bears the weight of the entire movie. The actor is a powerful presence on screen and delivers strong acting in the action sequences. In a few poignant moments, Venkatesh gives one of his greatest performances to date.
Saindhav’s closing thirty minutes are interesting because of some great action sequences and Venky’s action figure. On screen, the Bujjikondave song is catchy. In an attempt to inject some humor into the film, Nawazuddin Siddiqui occasionally makes people chuckle.
It’s fantastic that the creators of Saindhav attempted to raise awareness of the hereditary disorder SMA and the efforts being made by NGOs. The cameraman, Manikandan, does a great job of capturing the well-composed battle scenes. Among all the pieces, the interval action set piece sticks out.
Negative Points:
Even though Saindhav is a fantastic concept with lots of potential, the director was unable to develop a compelling story. For the most part, the screenplay is flat. The first hour is full with boring moments.
Saindhav contains a number of excellent actors, but because of the way their roles are written, none of them have any impact. A generic part wastes the talent of an actor such as Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Nawazuddin Siddiqui makes an effort, but the writing prevents him from being truly great. Jisshu Sengupta, Andrea Jeremiah, Shraddha Srinath, Ruhani Sharma, Arya, Mukesh Rishi, and Jayaprakash all deserved far greater roles. The narrative contains logical fallacies.
Technical Aspects:
Cinematographer Manikandan has done a great job of capturing the imaginary metropolis, and the production qualities are high-quality. The work of the art direction team was excellent. The movie could have been lot better if the background music had been better. The editing is not too bad.
The youthful filmmaker did a fantastic job introducing Venkatesh, but he was unable to do the same with other performers. The movie lacks a compelling story and fails to reach the required highs, while having a nice idea.
Verdict:
Saindhav has a solid idea overall, however the most of the story is uninteresting and unengaging. The best parts of Saindhav are Venkatesh’s stunning performance and the final thirty minutes. The filmmaker didn’t give his outstanding cast members meaningful roles, despite their support. Another major flaw that significantly lessens the impact is the background score. The film is passable due to Venky’s acting and a few poignant scenes. That’s why it’s advisable to control your expectations.
