Rishikesh - This year's rafting costs are probably going to increase.

Last weekend saw the start of the Rishikesh eagerly awaited rafting season. It’s one of those locations that is well-known worldwide for providing thrilling white-water rafting experiences along the Ganga River, luring tourists from near and far.

The Rafting Association leaders’ announcement of a likely fee rise this year, the first in the previous five years, signals a significant change. The anticipated increase, which is predicted to be between 20 and 30 percent, will provide travelers looking for adventure with something new to look forward to as well as a small financial adjustment.

Five different rafting venues, each with its own special charm, are available in Rishikesh. According to the sources, these places include Phoolchatti, Brahmpuri, Marine Drive, Shivpuri, and Kaudiyala.

Kaudiyala stands out among these choices as the longest rafting route, spanning a whole day of exhilarating rapids and breathtaking scenery. While catering to a variety of interests and time constraints, Shivpuri, Brahmpuri, and Marine Drive provide adventures lasting three, four, and five hours, respectively.

The current prices for these heart-pounding experiences are as follows, according to the Ganga River Rafting Rotation Committee: INR 2,500 for Kaudiyala, INR 1,500 for Marine Drive, INR 1,000 for Shivpuri, and INR 600 for Brahmpuri per person.

The committee’s chairman, Dinesh Bhatt, indicated that despite suffering considerable losses as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, they have not raised rafting prices in the previous five years.

It’s crucial to remember that the Rishikesh and Muni-ki-Reti regions are home to about 260 rafting businesses, which are essential to the regional tourism sector. These businesses help the area create jobs both directly and indirectly by bringing in tourists from all over the world.

Additionally, the rafting organization has frequently expressed to the tourism department its worries about what they believe to be insufficient provisions at rafting points, which they believe are creating problems for both rafting firms and visitors.
