Hari, who has a talent for big-budget movies, is presently working with Vishal on the thrilling action movie Rathnam. The pair previously released Bharani and Pooja, two megahits. See if Rathnam can serve as their secret weapon.

Movie Story:

Rathnam (Vishal) is Panneer Swamy’s (Samuthirakani) close aide and MLA for Chittoor. He is constantly involved in some sort of confrontation. He begins pursuing Mallika (Priya Bhavani Shankar) after seeing her one day. Rathnam quickly learns that Mallika is being targeted for murder by some thugs. Rathnam exerts every effort to keep Mallika safe. These guys are whores. What makes them want to murder Mallika? For Mallika, why did Rathnam put his life in danger? Rathnam is all about this.

Positive Points in Rathnam Movie:

Vishal is the type of performer who consistently delivers a flawless performance. He gave a powerful performance with total conviction in Rathnam as well. He looks amazing in every action scene. Vishal carries the movie with him and has excellent body language.

A handful of the well-thought-out action scenes in the film may be appealing to a broad audience. Samuthirakani and Priya Bhavani Shankar do respectable roles. Through Rathnam, Devi Sri Prasad demonstrated his antique mark. A few of the songs are quite well-written and will take us back to his early years.

Minus Points in Rathnam Movie:

Although Hari’s films typically follow a formula, his storytelling ability is what sets them apart. In the past, he made fascinating films even with ordinary stories. They also moved quickly, which made it easier for us to ignore how formulaic the writing was. However, this is where Rathnam stumbles. The narration fails to captivate us, indicating a major lack of the director’s magic. There are a lot of dull scenes throughout the film, and the action occasionally slows down.

One is compelled to identify the problems when the fun is absent. After a while, the second half gets monotonous because it is all action and very little drama. The film drags on at the very end when the editors might have cut it down.

The major actors are supposed to be experiencing a different emotion, yet the story isn’t conveyed effectively. It is challenging to relate because of this one mood throughout the entire movie. There were a few scenes where the humor clicked, but Yogi Babu isn’t used to his full potential. There isn’t much for Murali Sharma to do.

Technical Aspects:

Devi Sri Prasad gave the movie excellent song and background score placements. Sukumar’s cinematography is well-organized, and the five-minute action sequence in one frame is almost visually appealing. Plus, the production design is excellent. The movie appears overlong, and the editing is subpar.

Rathnam was a terrible film, directed by Hari. He was unable to create any amusing scenes, which detracts from the movie in several places. A body without a soul is like an action movie without any heartfelt moments. This is precisely Rathnam’s issue.

Verdict:

Rathnam is an action drama that is often uninspiring and devoid of appropriate emotions. In his mass avatar, Vishal is convincing, and the movie features some clever action scenes. The main issue with Rathnam is that the central feeling that propels the movie is not at all believable. Additionally absent are the entertaining element and quick-witted storytelling, which were once among Hari’s strongest points. The climactic sequences are carried on excessively, and eventually, it gets tiresome. Therefore, it’s advised to look into choices this weekend.
