Vivo X Fold3 Pro

Over the previous few years, Vivo has introduced several foldable phones, but since they were never available in India, you’ve probably never heard anything about them. The Vivo X Fold3 Pro, the brand-new flagship foldable phone from the firm and the first to be released in India, changes all of that. With the Vivo X Fold3 Pro, the company hopes to gain traction right away and contend with more recent entrants like OnePlus as well as more established ones like Samsung in a market that will likely see rapid growth in the years to come.

Vivo choose the Vivo X Fold3 Pro to be its first foldable in India for some reasons. To date, it is the lightest and slimmest foldable in the nation. It has the biggest battery and the largest display of any foldable phone to date. Additionally, it is India’s fastest-charging foldable phone. It is also the first folding device to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU. The cost of these “firsts” is a whopping Rs 1,60,000.

Verdict

With the X Fold3 Pro, Vivo has made a strong folding debut in India. Among the many firsts this flagship smartphone offers is that it’s the lightest and thinnest foldable currently available. Along with its excellent battery life, robust hardware supported by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, and stunning ZEISS-branded cameras, the X Fold3 Pro boasts a stylish and high-end appearance. On the other hand, foldable with smaller prices, such as the OnePlus Open (review) and Galaxy Z Fold5 (review), appear to provide better value for the money.

Design

The Vivo X Fold3 Pro felt incredibly light in my hand, even though it has one of the largest batteries of any foldable phone. It is approximately 3 grams lighter than the OnePlus Open and 17 grams less than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, weighing 236 grams in total. When unfolded, the Fold3 Pro is 5.2 mm thick, which makes it thinner than its competitors.

The Vivo X Fold3 Pro’s back is readily identifiable as a Vivo flagship thanks to its huge circular camera module, dubbed the “big eye,” and its outer ring, which was influenced by high-end timepieces and is known as the brand’s fluted bezel design. The back panel is incredibly soft to the touch with a satin matte texture. The Armor Back Cover is composed of a blend of glass and UPE fibers, which the manufacturer claims make the phone both lightweight and resistant to punctures.

When folding, unfolding completely, or at specific angles, the hinge feels sturdy and strong. According to Vivo, the hinge is TUV-certified to resist five lakh folds and is built on an incredibly durable carbon fiber construction. For more than 12 years, you will be able to fold and unfold the device 100 times every day. The phone also has an IPX8 water resistance rating.

primary and cover displays

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was visited by Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan and Deputy Chief Minister (Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Environment, Forest, Science, and Technology) Nadendla Manohar, Minister of Civil Supplies, and Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography, Kandula Durgesh, on Tuesday at the State Secretariat.

These are premium screens with superior viewing angles and sharpness. In direct sunshine, the screens can get quite bright, whether they are folded or unfolded. Both the primary screen and the cover screen of the X Fold3 Pro can display video in HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It’s interesting to note that you only need to register your fingertips once thanks to the fingerprint sensors on the cover screen and the right side of the main display. Compared to competing foldables, the main display’s crease is less noticeable.

There are two methods to use the main display: flex mode and split-screen. Split-screen functionality can be enabled by quickly semi-folding and unfolding an app while it’s running on the main screen. Conversely, the gadget enters flex mode when it is folded between 75 and 115 degrees. To use the X Fold3 Pro like a mini laptop, set it on a flat surface with the cover screen facing down. Flex mode helps control playback when watching Netflix or for using as a tripod for your cameras while taking a long exposure, time-lapse, or selfie photos.

Cameras

Earlier in the day, the Jana Sena chief was accorded a rousing welcome by farmers of Amaravati en route to the Secretariat. Laying a flower bed on the Seed Access Road, farmers in large numbers congregated and gave a grand welcome to the Deputy Chief Minister. Pawan Kalyan greeted the farmers from his vehicle.

In summary, the cameras on the Vivo X Fold3 Pro are excellent in the majority of situations and rank among the best available on a foldable phone at this time. They aren’t quite as good as the Vivo X100 Pro’s (review) cameras, but they’re quite close. The primary camera produces amazing images in both bright and dim lighting, capturing vibrant colors and details, however, the dynamic range could have been improved. The OIS of the primary camera produces clear, blur-free still images and videos.

Although the field of view isn’t very broad, the 50MP wide-angle lens does a decent job of maintaining colors and details that are comparable to what the primary camera provides. In comparison to a normal photo of the same location, there were times when the overall brightness seemed reduced, especially in low light.

In the meantime, both the main screen and the cover screen feature a 32MP front camera.

Performance and software

After learning of Pawan Kalyan’s arrival, people gathered outside Block II within the Secretariat as well. Some of them even walked up to the first floor and chanted slogans in his honor. He had earlier visited the Water Resources Department’s Guest House in Vijayawada, which will serve as his camp office.

With Funtouch OS 14 on top, Android 14 powers the Vivo X Fold3 Pro. The Vivo application suite and a few pre-installed third-party programs can make the user interface feel a bit hefty at first. If you would rather have a more stock Android experience, you can remove the third-party applications. Numerous customization options are available with Funtouch OS, including new always-on display styles, a Material You-like color picker for the system and app UI, and customizable clock styles on the lock screen. Funtouch OS can feel fluid and easy to use once you’ve spent some time customizing the user interface to your tastes. Though this seems short for a flagship phone that consumers might wish to keep for a while, the firm offers three years of software upgrades.

Battery

The Vivo X Fold3 Pro has the largest battery of any flagship foldable available in India at the moment, with a 5,700mAh capacity. I’ve already said how amazing it is that Vivo was able to cram such a massive battery into a thin and light phone. When it comes to actual battery life, the Vivo X Fold3 Pro delivers. With moderate use, the phone can easily last you more than 1.5 days when you swap between the cover and the main display for different scenarios. The phone lasted about 14 hours in our PCMark battery test, which is an hour longer than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and OnePlus Open.

The Vivo X Fold3 Pro shines in this situation. The foldable phone is the fastest-charging foldable in India, supporting fast cable charging speeds of up to 100W in addition to providing a reliable battery backup. When utilizing the included 120W charging brick, the device can be charged from 20 to 100 percent in around 35 minutes, and from 0 to 100 percent in about an hour. Moreover, Vivo‘s Vertical Flash Charger 2 allows for 50W wireless charging of the foldable device.

Final verdict

Vivo X Fold3 Pro is a step in the right direction Where mobile phones are going. While previous folders were thick and heavy, making them difficult to carry, the X Fold3 Pro shows that folders can be light and flexible without sacrificing design or hardware. In addition to being lightweight and compact, the X Fold3 Pro is also durable and has a great design.

As impressive as its exterior, the interior of the Vivo X Fold3 Pro is also impressive. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 16 GB RAM, large 5,700 mAh battery, and ZEISS-backed camera make this phone highly recommended. Vivo Good. Priced at Rs 1,60,000, this is an expensive phone and might not be an easy choice for buyers who think they have big-budget flagships like the OnePlus Open and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5. And let’s not forget that the next Samsung store will open soon. However, Vivo
