The LG XBOOM XL7S is a device to consider if you like to bring the party with you wherever you go. With its large volume and portability, this party speaker can play music for up to 20 hours straight. It also features built-in Bluetooth connectivity, wheels that resemble suitcases for easy mobility, and a powerful bass sound. Funky LEDs, an IPX4 rating, and connections for connecting a guitar and microphone are among the features that the LG XBOOM XL7S has to offer.

Quality of design and construction
The LG XBOOM XL7S has a large, heavy design that is more fitting for a party speaker. Because the speaker weighs about 15.5 kg, lifting and moving it could be a little challenging. To overcome this, the manufacturer gave the speaker wheels and a retractable handle so that it could be pushed and moved about on the floor. Because the XBOOM XL7S is made of high-quality plastic, it should be fairly resistant to scratches. The speaker may fit in a car or on a scooter’s footrest thanks to its dimensions of 310 x 700 x 316 mm.
A metal grille adorns the front of the speaker, while the edges, which have a pleasing texture and XBOOM logo, stand out as well. Should you wish to position the speaker horizontally, there are a few anti-skid pads on the left spine in addition to the bottom edge. While the handle and all of the controls are located on the upper edge, the speaker’s back has an opening flap that exposes I/Os. These include two 6.5mm jacks for connecting a guitar and microphone for karaoke nights, as well as a USB Type-A port for storing devices like USB flash drives. The speaker is kept from hanging carelessly by the flap’s strong magnetic attachment to the rear.

The LG XBOOM app, the XL7S companion software, may be downloaded from the Google Play Store or the App Store for iOS and Android smartphones, respectively. Despite the app’s varied reviews in the app store, I had a generally good experience with it personally. All of the app’s features worked without a hitch. In addition, the XBOOM app is user-friendly and has several functions in addition to managing the multicolored ring lighting and Pixel Art Display. Depending on your preferences, you can change the EQ settings between Standard and Sound Boost or use the three bands: 100Hz, 1kHz, and 10kHz. I tested the app’s Karaoke mode without a microphone, though.
Sound quality
Given that it is popular with partygoers, it is not unexpected that the LG XBOOM XL7S has strong audio. The speaker produces clean sound and has a thumping sound quality in addition to being loud. This may be explained by the 2.1 channel configuration, which includes a substantial 8-inch woofer with an output of up to 250W and 2.5-inch cone-shaped tweeters.
Punchy bass can be produced by the speaker with additional help from Sound Boost. The sub-bass in songs like “High End” and “Top Notch Gabru” may not be fully captured by the XL7S, but even at moderate volume settings, it can shake your furniture and bones. It can keep your neighbors up at night when played at its loudest volume.
Asking for a preset EQ setting that gives vocals and other high-frequency sounds priority will be ineffective. The LG XBOOM XL7S is more appropriate for partygoers who enjoy loud bass in their music than for music purists.
Battery life
The LG XBOOM XL7S party speaker’s battery life is dependent on how much you use it. According to the manufacturer, the speaker can run without lights and at 50% volume for up to 20 hours between charges. Based on my observations, I was able to play for about seven hours on average when I had Sound Boost, lighting, and volume levels adjusted between 50 and 80 percent. The speaker maintains functionality and charges using a special wire, so your experience won’t be disrupted. In today’s fast-paced world, the speaker can take anywhere from three and a half to four hours to fully charge from zero to one hundred percent.
Verdict
The LG XBOOM XL7S is not inexpensive. The speaker was originally priced at Rs 52,990 but is now only available for Rs 37,990 on the official LG website. The LG party speaker’s rivals include the Sony XRS-XV800 and JBL Partybox 310, both of which have a comparable feature set.
But if the asking price as of right now is any indication, the LG XL7S is less expensive than its competitors. Although a purist might prefer a more balanced sound, partygoers will find the speaker to be excellent at producing an immersive, bass-heavy audio experience. Its LED lights also give flair to any occasion, and you can customize the lighting effects and EQ settings using the accompanying app.
