Dell Alienware 32-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor AW3225QF

Nothing is flawless about a gadget. As reviewers, it is our ongoing goal to find device flaws so that users are aware of what they are getting into. You should know what you can and cannot accomplish with a new electronic item before investing your hard-earned money in it. We have access to some of the most sought-after gadgets on the market, thus it is our duty to make sure we don’t deceive you by giving any of our products deceptive titles. Despite everything, I would still like to state that the Alienware 32-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor from Dell (AW3225QF) is perhaps the closest thing on the market for a gaming display that can be considered “perfect.”

I would like to make it clear that this is not a monitor for the general public before I get into the specifics. This gaming monitor, which retails for an expensive Rs 1,05,000, is intended for enthusiasts—more so, those who are unwilling to make any compromises. After stating my disclaimer, let’s discuss what makes this particular Alienware display so amazing.

Ports and Design

The AW3225QF has the characteristic looks that you would expect from an expensive Alienware monitor. The body is primarily made of plastic, with the back being a combination of matte black, white, and aqua-blue colors. The 3-zone customizable AlienFX lighting on the display allows you to customize the precise look you want for your gaming setup. The Aqua Blue lighting looks amazing in a gloomy area. The display measures 31.6 inches (80.26 cm) and has a 1700R curvature. To maintain tidy and clean cable management, the ports and cables on the back can be nicely tucked under a white cover.

Features and gameplay experience

Although I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing the Gigabyte AORUS CO49DQ, the 49-inch display may be a bit much for daily use (unless you are accustomed to multi-monitor setups). On the other hand, I frequently feel that I need a larger panel even though I regularly use a 27-inch monitor. The AW3225QF’s 32-inch panel seems to be the perfect compromise between the two, especially with its 1700R curve, which makes sure the panel correctly adjusts to your field of view.

The AW3225QF supports games on both PCs and consoles with a 16:9 aspect ratio and no side black bars. Compared to ultrawide and super ultrawide monitors with a 21:9 or 32:9 aspect ratio, this is a noticeable advantage. Because of this particular aspect ratio problem—both the PS5 and Xbox Series X do not allow ultrawide gaming—console players would rather not purchase ultrawide monitors.

You can have a seamless gaming experience without any tearing problems with this monitor because it supports both VESA AdaptiveSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC. The monitor is perfect for both watching movies and editing photos and videos because it covers 99.0 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The visual quality is perfect, with a pixel density of 140ppi. I tried the AW3225QF in many usage situations, and the following is what I found:

  • My experience playing Tekken 8 with HDR turned on was identical in that there was no lag or stuttering.
  • To test the performance and response time, I then connected the display to my PC and played a few first-person shooter games. I engaged in gameplay with Call of Duty: Warzone, Valorant, Modern Warfare 3, and Fortnite. As much as I would like to say that I won these games because of my performance, the truth is that the AW3225QF gives you an advantage over other players in every game. You always know that the only hardware restrictions with this monitor are your abilities; there are no hardware limitations in terms of response time or high refresh rate.
  • To see how it performed in terms of quality, I also watched a few 4K HDR films and TV series on the display. I have to admit that the color fidelity right out of the box amazed me. 78 percent of the BT.2020 color gamut is covered by this monitor, which is quite remarkable. It was captivating to watch the most recent episode of House of Dragon on this monitor.
  • Given that it was a QD-OLED panel, the viewing angles were rather striking. The panel handles light sources quite well because of the anti-reflection coating, but it will work best in areas with controlled lighting, in my opinion.

You can use the ComfortView Plus feature on the display to lessen blue light. The brand offers both Pixel Refresh and Panel refresh options to prevent burn-in on panels. If a picture remains static on your OLED panel for long hours, you can use the Panel Refresh option. It takes around an hour to finish this more involved process. Interestingly, Dell provides a Premium Panel Exchange (which includes coverage for OLED burn-in) and a 3-Year Advanced Exchange Service for the monitor.

Verdict

Gamers will love the Dell Alienware 32-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor (AW3225QF). This could be the best gaming monitor available unless you are the kind of guy who requires a 360Hz panel above all else. I would argue that this QD OLED monitor should easily meet the expectations of professional players since most of them play at 240Hz. Although there are several sizes for this monitor, including 27- and 34-inch, I think the 32-inch display works best for gaming, video editing, and viewing movies. With its deep blacks, almost instantaneous reaction time, high contrast ratio, and compatibility with both VESA AdaptiveSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC, this monitor offers you a smooth and tear-free gaming experience.
