PIC Restaurants Awards: Three Michelin Stars

I went to three of the most renowned restaurants in the area—Pic, Troisgros, and Lameloise—during my trip to Burgundy and the surrounding area. Each of these eateries honored a delight of France: renowned eateries with illustrious histories tucked away in remote locations. Restaurant Pic was without a doubt the greatest of the three.
In addition to obtaining the best ingredients from France, Anne-Sophie Pic and her team demonstrated exceptional talent and taste buds by incorporating tastes and spices from other countries, like Japan and India. The result of all of these efforts are foods that are intriguing and surprising in addition to being palatable. I’m not qualified to discuss whether Chef Pic’s original restaurant in Valence is superior to her more handy locations in London and Paris, but I can state with certainty that I’m happy I traveled to Valence. Chef Anne-Sophie Pic is a master at combining powerful flavors in her food without sacrificing balance.

The unique atmosphere of Maison Pic, located in the Drôme département in southeast France, deserves special note. A well-lit space meant to highlight the cuisine, artistically placed flowers, and a plush carpet that attenuates the footsteps of a front-of-house crew dressed in traditional clothing. with this instance, food is served on a porcelain dish covered with a cloche, much like in the past. The meals reflect the chef’s high-minded culinary obsessions, which have earned him the moniker “the tightrope walker of flavours” and include inventive presentation and admiration for Japan. These days, Anne-Sophie Pic offers eleven “ports of call” on a single set menu.
