One of the seven holy towns for Hindus is Ayodhya, which is situated in Uttar Pradesh on the banks of the Sarayu river. Since Ayodhya is thought to be the birthplace of Lord Rama, it plays a significant role in the Hindu epic Ramayana. With its peaceful ghats, this holy town attracts travelers. It is also the birthplace of four of the 24 Tirthankaras (religious leaders) in Jainism.

The 1992 Indian riots connected to the Babri Masjid controversy took place there. The Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow, which lies 50 km west of the town, is the closest airport to Ayodhya. Regular flights connect the Lucknow Airport to India’s major cities. On the other hand, there are regular trains from the Ayodhya railway station to many Uttar Pradesh cities, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, and even Delhi. Another option is to take a bus from one of the state’s neighboring cities to Ayodhya.

At a distance of 8 kilometers, Faizabad Airport is the closest airport to Ayodhya. Nevertheless, Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow, which is about 130 kilometers away, is the closest major airport to Ayodhya. The Lucknow airport has good connections to most of India’s largest cities. To go to Ayodhya from the Lucknow airport, you could rent a taxi, which would set you back about INR 2,000. About 166 km away, at the Bamrauli Airport in Allahabad, is the other significant airport close to Ayodhya.
