A lucky Balaji Venugopal has an idea that has all the potential to become a light version of Ayyapanum Koshiyum. While the first half creates the perfect platform where the good moments later increase the tension between the two characters, the second half fails to capitalize on the original process.

Yogi Babu, the perpetual victim of relentless misfortune and ridicule. Although he struggles to make ends meet with his family expenses, certain turns of events make him the lucky winner of the lottery. A car comes into his life and changes it for the better. Although he comes to firmly believe that the car is the best thing that ever happened to his life, his wife thinks otherwise.

Trouble starts when he confronts the police, causing several conflicts between them. Meanwhile, his car is stolen.

What lengths will this regular man go to in order to get his automobile back and get revenge on the thief?

While Lucky Man shows promise in the beginning, it loses its way as it progresses and contains episodes that don’t really highlight the main idea.Veera and Yogi Babu’s combo moments are both rather well written, yet neither one successfully captures the audience’s emotions. For instance, it’s incredibly unclear how much Yogi Babu needs the car back. Also, some sequences in the second half become a bit chaotic and seem completely silly for a film that started out very realistic.

Sometimes we even see Yogi Babu stealing a dog in revenge. Although the director tries to justify everything in the end with several relationships, we feel nothing because the emotions are empty.

Sean Roldan’s background score complements the film well, but the song arrangements are underutilized due to the average writing style.

Both Yogi Babu and Veera fit the roles given to them and did justice to them. Family serials featuring Rachal Rebecca and Yogi Babu’s son are hilarious. The technical aspects including editing and cinematography support the film well.

All in all, despite its good premise, Lucky Man doesn’t quite win our hearts.
