Kumari Srimathi is the new family drama series that Nitya Menen has created. The script for the Gomtesh Upadhye-directed show was written by Srinivas Avasarala. The cast of the program is strong. Watch how things stand.

Story:

The show, which is set in Ramaraju Lanka, centers on a feud for an ancestral property between Srimathi (Nitya Menen) and her uncle Keshava Rao (Prem Sagar). When Srimathi was younger, she made a pledge to her grandfather that she would never sell the house. In court, Keshava Rao presents a will deed proving his father’s transfer of the land into his name. Keshava Rao signs a selling agreement with someone else, but the court rejects it since it’s ancestral land.

In addition, the court allows Srimathi to buy the house and gives her six months to arrange the necessary cash. However, Srimathi works as a chef for a pitiful wage. Her neighbor Sriram (Nirupam) advises her to establish a company. The remainder of the series is based on what Srimathi did after that.

Extra Credits:

Although the idea of a family feud over ancestral property has been discussed extensively in the past, Kumari Srimathi stands out for its heartfelt and clean comic content. The primary goal was to make the entire experience enjoyable, and the creators were mostly successful in this regard. The majority of the humorous scenes are beneficial to the program, even though a few of the one-liners feel a little dated.

Without forcing the theme down our throats, the series subtly promotes female empowerment. As the main character opens a restaurant and bar, the villagers become enraged with her because they feel that the enterprise is negatively impacting their quality of life. Later on, Nitya Menen provides a workable answer for it; this is a well-written example of her work. A notable hero makes a special cameo to beautify the same.

This comic drama features Nitya Menen, who is delightful to watch. From the beginning, one cannot help but root for her as she so effortlessly inhabits the role. Gautami is an amazing actor who portrayed Kumari Srimathi with a natural flow.

Minus Points:

They didn’t manage the romantic tracks well. Despite their strong performances, Nirupam and Thiruveer’s effect is lacking. It’s also because of the staging of their scenes. These tracks occasionally make the proceedings less fluid.

A few mid-episodes saw a decline in the plot, but as Nitya Menen launches her company, things pick up again. At points, the pacing feels a little slow, and the conclusion appears a little hurried. The show may have reached a higher level with a better conclusion.

Technical Aspects:

Impressive work was done by Staccato & Kamran on the background score and songs. Specifically, the song that was recorded at the bar had a good melody. Mohana Krishna has excellent production values and tasteful cinematography. Most of the editing is excellent.

In a few scenes, his trademark humor is evident. However, some parts required more skillful execution.

Verdict:

Overall, Kumari Srimathi is a respectable comedy-drama that subtly addresses women’s empowerment. For the most part, the comedic parts are effective. There were several amusing moments, and Nitya Menen and Gautami gave strong performances. But this weekend, Kumari Srimathi is a worthwhile program to watch.
