Realme Narzo 70 Pro

The Narzo 70 Pro is the newest high-end smartphone in Realme’s Narzo series. It’s a mid-range device that sports a sharp OLED display, a standard 5,000mAh battery, and a MediaTek CPU at its heart. Additionally, the phone has a special feature called Air Gesture that lets you operate the gadget without touching the screen. But are these justifications strong enough to make the smartphone a worthwhile investment, or are there other benefits? To learn more, see our review of the Realme Narzo 70 Pro.

Verdict

The Realme Narzo 70 Pro could be a worthwhile purchase if you’re searching for a nice mid-range smartphone with respectable performance, battery life, and viewing quality. The addition of the Air Gesture tool is interesting, albeit it might need some work before it is really helpful.

Design and display

The company’s recently released numeric series is somewhat different from the new Horizon Glass design found on the Realme Narzo 70 Pro. The phone’s back panel has a two-tone appearance, with an arc dividing the glossy and matte finish sections. The glossy surface is located at the top, where a circular camera module protrudes out of the frame and is less prone to attract fingerprints and smudges. The review unit was sent to me in the Glass Green color option, which has a delicate yet elegant appearance.

The smartphone’s smooth, glossy borders can be a little slippery at times. The phone has a USB Type-C port on the bottom border and a 3.5mm headphone jack tucked away in the top edge. It also includes a single bottom-firing speaker with 50–60% volume levels that produce a respectable sound output.

Regarding visuals, the Realme Narzo 70 Pro has a conventional 6.67-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and 2,000 nits of peak brightness. For the budget range, the display quality is decent, with vivid colors that are easy to see both indoors and outside.

Cameras

A 50MP Sony IMX890 OIS primary sensor, together with an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro unit, make up the Realme Narzo 70 Pro camera package. The phone uses a 16MP punch-hole camera for selfies and video calling. At least in daylight, the picture quality looks decent for the price, albeit being a little oversaturated. Even though the dynamic range is a little lacking, the photos nevertheless have reasonable details and vibrant and appealing colors.

Additionally, the phone does a decent job of capturing skin tones and facial characteristics. The device often struggles to capture details in low light. Even in night mode, the pictures have a rather blurry appearance.

Performance and software

The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, in conjunction with vapor chamber cooling technology, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of onboard storage, powers the Realme Narzo 70 Pro. This processor guarantees seamless performance in daily usage, akin to the Realme 12+ (review). In terms of benchmark results, the phone achieved a good 611,860 on AnTuTu, 945 on Geekbench’s single-core test, and 2,356 on the multi-core test. In addition, the smartphone does a great job on the CPU Throttle test, slowing to only 92% of its maximum performance after 30 minutes of running 50 threads.

For light gaming, the Realme Narzo 70 Pro also delivers strong performance. We put the smartphone to the test with graphically intensive apps like Real Racing, BGMI, and Call of Duty. We saw a consistent rise in the phone’s temperature after 30 minutes of playtime for each game and an average 7–8% drop in battery life.

The Realme Narzo 70 Pro comes pre-installed with Realme UI 5.0, which is based on Android 14. These are in addition to the proprietary apps like Game Center, Community, and App Market, as well as Google. For those used to cleaner software, this could make the user interface seem a little busy.

Battery and charging

A remarkable 16 hours and 24 minutes were achieved by the 5,000mAh battery within the Realme Narzo 70 Pro during the PC Mark battery test. During a 30-minute test in which we played 4K YouTube videos at 50% volume and brightness, the device only used 4% of its battery. This implies that with moderate use, the smartphone should easily survive more than a day between charges. Speaking of which, with the included 67W power adaptor, the Narzo 60 Pro can be fully charged from 0% to 100% in 45 minutes.

Final verdict

At Rs 19,999, the Realme Narzo 70 Pro is more reasonably priced in India than the Realme 12+, which has comparable specifications. The iQOO Z9, an Amazon-only smartphone, is the direct rival of the Narzo model. It does, however, have somewhat slower charging speeds.

Because of this, the Realme Narzo 70 Pro presents an alluring bundle for purchasers of mid-range smartphones. It’s a good option because of its balance of performance, battery life, and display quality.
