12th Failed Story:
Manoj Kumar Sharma, an IPS officer, experienced real-life events that served as the inspiration for the film 12th Fail. Manoj Kumar Sharma, played by Vikrant Massey, is from a low-income Chambal household. Because Manoj’s father is honest in his work, he receives a suspension. Manoj attends a school where the principal actively promotes exam cheating among the pupils. After apprehending the headmaster, DSP Dushyant (Priyanshu Chatterjee) tells Manoj that integrity is the most valuable quality in life. Inspired by Dushyant’s statements, Manoj begins to think that an honest police officer may make a difference in society. How did Manoj achieve prosperity? What misfortunes did he suffer? This is the main topic of the movie.
Extra Credits:
The movie’s plot is excellent. Writing a script for a movie like 12th Fail is difficult because there are already a lot of movies on the same subject. Therefore, it’s critical that the story is really captivating. Vidhu Vinod Chopra writes a story with a great balance of humor and sentimentality. He has ensured that there are plenty of satisfying moments throughout the movie.
As Manoj Kumar Sharma, Vikrant Massey is fantastic, and his sincere portrayal is one of the film’s strongest points. Vikrant Massey offered his best to the movie and did a fantastic job stepping into Manoj’s role. Actors find biopics like 12th Fail difficult since there aren’t many references.
Medha Shankar provides excellent assistance for Vikrant Massey. It effectively illustrates how the real-life couple supported one another during good times and bad. The movie has a few moments that will make you applaud, but the last interview sequence is the greatest. In their various parts, Anant Vijay Joshi, Saritha Joshi, Vikas Divyakirti, and Anshuman Pushkar are all excellent.
Negative Points:
There are pace problems in 12th Fail; at times, the action moves a little slowly. For more effect, the editing might have been more precise. Predictability enters the picture eventually, as it does in the majority of these kinds of movies.
The second half’s first few minutes were boring. A more effective way to depict the primary pair’s conflict point may have been used. The film contains no commercial components since it underscores the need of having honest personnel in the system. Some people might find this uncomfortable. Even even the smallest details in the film, the narration ran nonstop. However, this may have been averted.
Technical Aspects:
Songs by Shantanu Moitra are quite outstanding, with the Telugu lyrics being particularly noteworthy. 12th Fail’s Telugu dubbing crew is especially deserving of praise because it doesn’t feel like a dubbed movie. With skill, cinematographer Rangarajan Ramabadran immerses us in Manoj Kumar Sharma’s environment. It would have been better to modify. The production values are well-executed.
Regarding Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the director, he did a fantastic job on the film. It’s good how he brought comedy and feelings into this true story. Though there were a couple sequences in the second half that may have been better. All of the performers gave excellent performances, which the director extracted.

Overall, 12th Fail is a heartfelt movie that tells the story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, an IPS officer who overcame numerous obstacles to achieve tremendous success in life. Vikrant Massey, who plays the protagonist, plays the part to perfection, and the film stays loyal to its goal. Medha Shankar is impressive as well, with a well-developed persona. In 12th Fail, there are quite a few touching moments. Conversely, the movie moves slowly and occasionally becomes cliched. This weekend, if you enjoy inspirational true tales, you should definitely see this movie.
